Boy, 14, Rapes Nine-year-old Girl To Death In Lagos

Boy, 14, Rapes Nine-year-old Girl To Death In Lagos

The police in Lagos State have commenced investigation into how a nine-year-old girl died, after sustaining injuries caused by alleged consistent rape.
According to police authorities, the deceased was raped over five times, by a 14-year-old student, Onyi Adimabua, in the Ikorodu area of the state.
The father of the deceased, Simeon Jigo, told PUNCH Metro that Onyi is the son of the proprietor of the school his daughter attended.
He said his daughter opened up about the rape when she started having medical problems.
The 77-year-old man said his daughter died on October 3, 2013. He said:
“Up until my daughter’s death, she was a pupil of Fulfilled Greenland School, Ikorodu, and she was in primary three. One day, she came home and started complaining of pains around her vagina, stomach area.
We rushed her to Ikorodu General Hospital. A doctor checked her and after conducting some tests on her, told us that my daughter had sustained medical complications due to forced sexual intercourse.
I was alarmed by this; so, I had a private discussion with my daughter. She told me that it was her school proprietor’s son, Onyi, that had been raping her. The boy had threatened to kill her if she ever told anyone about it.”
The indigene of Ondo State told PUNCH Metro that after initial treatments, he took his daughter to Arogbo in Ondo State to be taken care of but her condition continued to deteriorate.
A few days after the troubled father travelled to Ondo State, Onyi, accompanied by his parents, also travelled to Ondo State, to apologise to Jigo’s family. The girl, however, was said to have died that very day.
“On getting to the house where my daughter was, we discovered that she was dead. Onyi confessed that he had been raping my daughter prior to her death,’ Jigo said.
PUNCH Metro learnt that after the girl’s demise, irate youths in the area attempted to lynch the 14-year-old boy. The bereaved father was said to have intervened and reported the matter to a nearby police station, where the teenager was held for safe keeping.
The next morning, Onyi and his parents travelled back to Lagos. The alleged rapist’s parents, in company with a chief in Ikorodu, reportedly visited Jigo when he returned to Lagos.
The group were said to have pleaded that the bereaved father should not pursue the case but he refused. Jigo said:
“I went to the Ikorodu Police station to report the case but was surprised when the policemen on duty said I should not write any statement.  They only told me to write down my telephone number and said they would call me later.
After waiting for many days without any call, I wrote a petition and the matter was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba.”
It was however learnt that Onyi had been taken to his father’s hometown in Delta State thereby stalling police investigation.
The teenager’s parents,  however described the incident as the handiwork of the devil.
The 14-year-old boy’s father, Andrew Adimabua, said:
“I trained that boy in the way of the Lord and expected so much from him. He has confessed to the act; there is nothing to hide. He told me that he learnt about sex by watching blue (pornographic) films.
We are not hiding him and we will cooperate with the police. On the day the little girl died, he was beaten up and made to stay in the rain for hours. As a result, he contracted pneumonia so we sent him home for treatment. When he recovers, he’ll be taken to the police for questioning.”
Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent on the telephone, expressed shock at the development.Braide said Onyi would be re-arrested in the course of investigation.
“It is appalling that a teenager could indulge in such act. The matter is under investigation and the culprit will be re-arrested.”

Nokia phone lost underwater for 3 months, still works

Nokia phone lost underwater for 3 months, still works

(Swedish citizen Roger Nilsson…)
NEW DELHI: Nokia has a legacy of making durable handsets, from the old 3315 to the new Lumia range. A recent incident reinforces the belief that Nokia makes some of the most durable mobile phones in the market still.
According to a Swede citizen Roger Nilsson, he recently found a Lumia 800 smartphone that was lost three and a half months ago in a lake. Except that the device is not rated for water resistance and is vulnerable to damage like any other standard smartphone in the market today.

Would New Yorker Cartoon Captions be Funnier if They Mentioned Blowjobs?

Today Emily Heller cemented her place in our list of the 30 female comedians under 35. Of course we never had a doubt that Heller deserved the recognition — as we wrote a week ago, the comedian is “disarmingly self-deprecating and hilariously perceptive,” a winning combination — but with the discovery of “Suck My Dick, New Yorker Caption Contest,” we stand firm in our convictions.
What is “Suck My Dick, New Yorker Caption Contest,” you ask? “Suck My Dick, New Yorker Caption Contest” (yeah we love typing that out and will continue to do so as long as we can) is Heller’s Tumblr with her brother Nate that is based on the presumption that “every week, [New Yorker captions] would be way funnier if they just talked about sucking dick.” Is it silly? Absolutely. Are the Heller siblings right? Surprisingly (…that is if you’re an adult with an evolved sense of humor, which we are not, so we weren’t surprised), yes. All the erudite puns in the world can’t beat a good ol’ fashioned dick joke.

'Tendulkar is the Amitabh Bachchan of cricket

Amarkant Jain reminisces his time playing against Sachin Tendulkar at club level and believes nothing is beyond the Master Blaster
I became his fan when I played with him years ago. I was in college and a member of Goregaon Sports Club, Mumbai. We had gone to Shivaji Park for a match with another club, but our match was postponed.
Sachin TendulkarWe saw him playing with his team there. We asked them and they agreed to a friendly match. Till that day I was considered a good bowler in my team. He hammered me all over the place.
I watch every match of his. If it is in Mumbai, I always go to the stadium. If it is elsewhere I watch it on television. I always switch off the TV once he gets out. I am his fan and not a team fan.
Whenever we are chasing a total I always feel we have a chance as long as Sachin is at the crease. This is irrespective of how many runs we need. There was no target that he could not reach, as far as the hope I had on him. I expected him to get every total set by any team anywhere in the world. Nothing was beyond him as far as I was concerned.
Among my prized possessions is a T-shirt signed by him. I am glad that he chose when to retire and is doing it as gracefully as he does everything else. Many people felt that he should have resigned earlier to give others a chance.
But who is that other that will replace him? I cannot see anyone who comes anywhere close to what he has achieved. He is the Amitabh Bachchan of cricket. Can anyone measure up to what Amitabh Bachchan has done in movies? No one can! And it is the same with cricket. No one will ever achieve what he has done. Not in our lifetime, at least.
There are many talented players in the team now. There were many talented players who played with him. We had world-beaters in Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and VVS Lakshman; later, we had explosive batsmen like Virendra Sehwag, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh, but he stood like a giant among them.
He was not a giant in India alone. Even in world cricket he is the biggest of them all. He is respected in every cricket-playing country.

5 techies among 44 killed in fire on bus headed to Hyderabad

The bus caught fire shortly after 5 am when most of the passengers were asleep
HyderabadIt was a little after 5 am when the bus headed from Hyderabad to Bangalore hit a barrier on the highway. The passengers on board were sleeping when the Volvo went up in flames. 44 people were killed, many of them burnt alive.

Five passengers and the driver and cleaner of the luxury bus managed to escape the inferno.

The driver has reportedly told the police that he was trying to over-take another vehicle when he hit a divider. The fuel tank then exploded, say investigators based on early inquiries.

"The driver was speeding at about 120-130 kilometres (75-80 miles) an hour. He was driving all night, it seems he may have fallen asleep at the wheel," said L Sarman, a senior district official to news agency AFP.

Among those who were killed were five employees of IT giants like IBM and Google, headed home to Bangalore for Diwali.

The bus belonged to Jabbar Travels, a well-known tour operator, with offices in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Pune. "The driver was not over-worked or new," said Imtiaz Khan, a manager. Relatives of the victims screamed and broke down in tears outside the office of the vehicle operator in Hyderabad, 140 kilometres from the crash site.

The bus had just one door in the front. The police say say that a large glass window meant to serve as an emergency exit could not be broken because a hammer, meant to be placed near it, was missing

HORROR: Little Baby Girl Is Forced To Live Inside Parents' Car Boot For Almost 2 Years!

HORROR: Little Baby Girl Is Forced To Live Inside Parents' Car Boot For Almost 2 Years! (Photos)

The little girl's parents being escorted into court by police
In a case that has appalled France and investigators say “defies the imagination”, a baby girl was forced to live hidden in the boot of her parents' car for almost two years!

The tiny baby was found naked and feverish by mechanics who were carrying out repairs on the family's Peugeot 307 car.
The mechanics were alerted to the child’s presence after hearing “strange noises that sounded like moans” coming from the rear of the vehicle.

The mother, 45, a Portuguese woman known only as Rose-Marie, claimed that the noise came from “toys”.
But the men insisted on opening the boot and were horrified to discover a small, dehydrated and apparently feverish child lying naked in its own excrement.

The mechanic who found the girl, Guillaume Iguacel, said today he was still in shock from the discovery. That the girl’s mother appeared to have little concern for her daughter.
He said:
I’m still having trouble sleeping, it was a horrifying sight, seeing this little girl in her own excrement, not able to hold up her head, white as a sheet.
We were deeply shocked because she (the girl's mother) didn’t find this abnormal. We told her to remove the little girl (from the boot) and give her something to drink right away.

Paramedics were called and the little child was immediately taken to hospital.

The mother told investigators that she had kept the child’s existence from her husband, an unemployed builder, also Portuguese, who police were unable to question straight away given his drunken state.
The mother said she gave birth alone then hid the baby in the boot. It has no birth certificate and apparently no name.

“It appears the child had been hidden from her birth, and even worse is seriously retarded,” said Jean-Pierre Laffite, the prosecutor in nearby Brive-La-Gaillarde.
He said the girl’s height, weight and mental development didn’t conform to her age, estimated to be between 15 and 23 months. She cannot speak a word.

“It’s a situation that defies the imagination,” he added.

The little child's parents have been charged with child abuse and neglect, and social services have taken into care their three other children - a four-year-old girl and two boys aged nine and 10.

The couple, who remain under strict judicial supervision, face a maximum ten-year prison terms if convicted.

As to the motive for hiding the baby, a judicial source said: “(The mother) provided none. That remains the big mystery.”
